While it is far from the prettiest lighthouse,
this black and white tower is a local landmark. The Sullivan’s Island
Lighthouse is an active lighthouse that replaced the old Morris Island
Lighthouse many years ago. During the day, the area around the lighthouse, but
not inside the lighthouse itself, can be accessed from the road at Station 18 ½.
However, during sunset, the place to be is the beach looking back at the lighthouse.
For this reason, I recommend parking at Station 19 and making the short walk
along that path to the sand.
The Details:
Address: Located between Station 18 1/2 and 19
Parking: Park along the street at Station 19 and use the beach access
Cost: Free (Just make sure all your wheels are off the pavement)
