Fort Moultrie on Sullivan's Island is hands down my favorite place to catch a sunset. While the fort itself is not open at sunset, there are various places to catch the sun-setting. Option one is along the rocks with the Ravenel bridge to your right (pictured above). Another option is along the beach at Station 12 (picture on the left below). The third option is the other section of beach around the corner (pictured on the right below). Along the walk, there are various little areas where you can climb up and pick a seat on the walk. Parking: There are two parking lots, one on either side of the fort.
Personally, I park on the fence along Poe Avenue
because I usually walk straight ahead to that section
of beach before coming around the bend towards the
bridge. The lot for Station 12 works just as well.
